Privacy Policy for SkipContact

SkipContact (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an iOS app that helps users open WhatsApp chats without saving contacts.

This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, where it is stored, and how to contact us.

1. Data we process

SkipContact does not require account creation and we do not operate a backend server for user accounts or chat data.

The app processes the following information on device:

• Phone numbers entered by the user.
• Optional clipboard text (used to prefill input when available).
• Generated WhatsApp links (https://wa.me/...).
• Local history entries created from user actions (for example: WhatsApp, Business, Link, QR).
• Purchase entitlement state (Pro unlocked or not) for feature gating.

2. Where data is stored

Data is stored locally on your device, including:

• App local storage for history and app state.
• App Group shared storage used by the widget extension.

We do not upload this data to our own servers.

3. In-app purchases

SkipContact offers an optional one-time Pro purchase through Apple In-App Purchases.

• Purchases, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple.
• We receive only what is needed to validate entitlement status.
• Apple may process personal data according to Apple’s privacy policy.

4. Third-party services

SkipContact may interact with:

• Apple services (App Store / StoreKit) for purchases and restore.
• WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business when you choose to open a chat.

Their data handling is governed by their own policies.

5. Data retention and control

Because data is local to your device:

• You can delete history entries inside the app.
• You can remove all app data by uninstalling the app.
• If widget data exists, it is also removed with app data according to iOS behavior.

6. Children’s privacy

SkipContact is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

7. Security

We rely on iOS platform security and reasonable app-level safeguards. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates are effective when posted with a revised effective date.
